Join us in shaping the future of CCEF.
The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation (CCEF) is seeking its next Executive Director.
We are looking for a leader who is excited about the work of Christ in the world and in their own life, and who has significant skill and experience in practicing and teaching biblical counseling. This person will be an ambassador, a wise pastoral presence, and an organizational health and strategy champion for CCEF, guiding our organization in our core mission of “restoring Christ to counseling and counseling to the Church.”
This is a pivotal moment in CCEF's nearly 50-year history.
With a strong legacy of influence and equipping within the world of biblical counseling, we're looking for a Christ-centered leader who will focus on two core goals:
ensuring integrity between the biblical wisdom that we teach and the organizational health of CCEF
and unifying our organization in pursuit of a clear strategy to accomplish our mission.
If you feel called to lead and serve in this unique and vital role, we invite you to learn more below, and to prayerfully consider applying.
““The ministry of CCEF has played a profound role in my own life, mining the riches of Scripture for everyday life and teaching me to do the same. As part of a church and ministry in the Middle East that feels the same way about CCEF, I know I’m in the right place!” ”
ABOUT the Executive Director role:
CCEF's Executive Director serves as the senior executive leader of the ministry — a link between the Board of Trustees and the organization. This person will act as a bridge who brings the Faculty and Operations team together for mutual understanding and coordinated action, balancing strategic vision, pastoral care, and operational oversight.
This role requires someone who can do the following:
keep the ministry faithful to its theological roots and mission;
articulate a compelling case for CCEF's model of biblical counseling;
support and equip Operations staff;
recruit and develop the next generation of Faculty-leaders in biblical counseling;
foster broad partnerships with like-minded churches and institutions.
There is a preference for a full-time presence at our Glenside, PA headquarters; but open-mindedness about the possibility of a remote Executive Director who can provide care, availability and responsive communication, with a significant monthly on-site presence.
Key responsibilities include:
Internal Culture-Building: Enabling all employees of CCEF to undertake their work with joy and creativity; fostering a culture where everyone understands and practices biblical wisdom in their work together in life-giving ways.
Strategic Development and Implementation: Bringing clarity to the identity, mission and strategy of CCEF; defining clear, specific and high-impact ways of accomplishing the mission while also ensuring financial stability.
Ambassadorial Work: Winsomely representing CCEF’s biblical counseling philosophy and legacy in order to strengthen existing relationships and forge new ones with partners, donors and other stakeholders.
Who we’re looking for
We're seeking a candidate who:
• has a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ
• has significant skill and experience in biblical counseling
•has experience leading an organization of similar size in both internal culture development and strategic direction
•embodies the biblical wisdom that CCEF teaches
•is a humble, confident and relational leader, passionate about developing and empowering others in their own areas of gifting
•is unafraid of making decisions that say “no” to some things in order to say a stronger “yes” to others
HOW TO APPLY
If you believe you may be a good fit for this role, we encourage you to apply.
The application process is designed to help both the Search Committee and candidates discern whether this calling is right for you.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Read the full job description.
2. Prepare your application materials, including:
⚫ A cover letter
⚫ Your résumé and references (note that we will not contact references without your permission)
⚫ Your brief written responses to these three questions:
• How would you summarize your own philosophy of biblical counseling?
• This role requires someone who has competence as a teacher and practitioner of biblical counseling, but who will be entirely focused in this role on CCEF’s organizational health and strategy. Frankly, what excites you about becoming an organizational leader rather than a teacher and/or practitioner of biblical counseling?
• A crucial part of this role involves all team members feeling the personal engagement (care, availability, and responsiveness) of the Executive Director. How would you go about providing that kind of care and attention?
3. Submit your application: Applications should be sent to will.gray@alignforbusiness.com by the end of the day on January 26, 2026. The Search Committee's plan is to interview candidates in February and to present the chosen candidate to the Board of Trustees in March, with an anticipated start date as soon as the chosen candidate is available.
We are praying for God's guidance in this important search and are eager to see how He provides the next leader for CCEF. Thank you for considering this opportunity to lead an organization that is transforming lives for Christ.
